I’m a little bit flaky….
But I swear it’s only temporary. Since this past winter, my skin has been unbearably dry, irritated and itchy. Now I’m sure part of this has something to do with pre and post pregnancy and the other part has to do with exfoliation. It seems that no matter how rich the cream, it’s never enough and the nice hydrated feeling my skin gets is only temporary. By the end of the day, I’m just as itchy as I was before my shower.
The other day while perusing YouTube, I found a video on one YouTubers favourite self tanners and I’m sure you’re thinking; Naomi, um no offense but , you don’t need self tanners… and you’d be right, lol. I was watching the video because in order to get a really great fake tan one needs to… exfoliate so that the tan is nice and even. The body scrub that was mentioned was Soap and Glory’s Flake Away.
The company’s website says ” A superhero strength skin smoothing body polish with shea butter, sweet almond oil, peach seed powder, sea salt and sugar. Transforms your scaly legs from reptilian to radiant. Scented with our Original Pink™ fragrance.
This scrub is AHmazing! I used this all over my body and felt relief instantly..well once I stepped out of the shower. The scrub feels buttery yet has good exfoliating properties. I love that it didn’t leave my skin feeling overly greasy, like most other scrubs do. Another bonus is that the scrubbing particles don’t disappear immediately either; which I’ve never found with any other sugar or salt scrub. The only bad thing about this scrub is that when you’re finished your shower, the inside of the tub looks like pond scum but I guess that I can live with that due to the fact that it does what it says it does and leaves me with no reptile-like scales on my body.
For a drug store item, this scrub is a little on the steep side at $18 but it’s so worth it. I can totally see myself repurchasing this again and again.
So tell me, what’s your favourite body scrub?
