My Pure + Simple Facial Experience
Over the years, I have heard really good things about Pure + Simple Spa. I was intrigued but never booked myself an appointment to see what everyone was talking about. About a week ago or so on the Pure + Simple Facebook page, they mentioned that they had two new estheticians at the Yorkville location and that for Mondays only in July they were offering 20% off facial services with the new estheticians there. So, this past Monday, I went for my first facial at Pure + Simple in Yorkville.
I really liked the vibe as soon as I walked in. I was a little bit worried that I would be greeted with attitude because, let’s be honest, this is Yorkville we’re talking about, but I was pleasantly surprised. Since it was my first time there, I had to fill out the standard spa form about my skin and what products and brands I was using. What I really liked about this was that the forms were on a dry erase board which I think is a fabulous idea! Talk about being earth friendly.
My facial was with Caitlin who is a new esthetician there and I have to say that she was amazing; I felt so relaxed and calm while she was doing my facial. I also added a peel to the process as I was feeling that my skin could use some deep exfoliation. FYI – the sugarcane peel was amazing and my skin looked so bright and beautiful afterwards. My favourite part of getting facials is the extractions- I know gross right? But it always feels so good to know that your skin is clean. I couldn’t get over how gentle she was and I didn’t end up bruised like I did about a year ago or so after a facial.
Overall I’d have to say that I had a really good first experience at Pure + Simple Spa in Yorkville. The staff is friendly, courteous and knowledgable. I walked away feeling relaxed, refreshed and renewed. Because natural products are being used, your senses are heightened due to the aromatherapy oils- I smelt a lot of lavander; which is my favourite scent. As a special treat, they gave me a small-sized version of their Skin Drink Moisturizer, which I’m excited to try (Thank You so much!!!) as well as a sample of the Naturopathica Moisturizer with SPF 17 and the Light Lactic Acid gel. I also picked up the book Beauty: Pure + Simple – A Holistic Guide to Natural Beauty.; a book written by the spas founder. I’m looking forward to learning more about natural beauty.Keep an eye out for my review of the Pure + Simple Skincare Line that I’ve been using.
Have you visited the Pure + Simple Spa? I’d love to know what you thought about the services they offer!
