Bath & Body Works Goodies

This past weekend I met up with my cousin and bestie for brush. After our yummy meal we hit up Bath and Body Works and a few other stores before heading home.

Dr. Patricia Wexler skin care set containing: Universal Anti-Aging Cleanser, Resurfacing Microbrasion System MMPI20 Skin Serum and Intensive Night Reversal & Repair Cream. There is a day cream but for some reason, it’s not included in this kit. I’m looking forward to trying this out once I finish my Dermalogica cleanser.

I really love the Lip Tints from C.O Bigelow. They were buy two get one free so I picked up the Magenta Mint, Violet Mint and a Soothing Lip Buffer. I also picked up four wallflowers and the four scent bulbs as they were on sale four for $20, and three of the Shea Cashmere hand creams that were three for $12.
The wallflowers are amazing; I really like the subtle fragrance that it gives to the room.

Have you tried any of these? If so, I’d love to know your thoughts on them.

Beauty Spree: Sephora

Last Friday after work, I quickly stopped at Sephora to pick up a few things. I am on the hunt again for another lip balm and decided to give the Korres range a try seeing as how I love the face primer. I was too sure if I’d actually wear some of the tinted ones so I opted for the plain one in Guava. I also wanted to try the eye primer that they had after reading some some of the reviews online. A lot of people said that it’s sticky and I thought that it would be good for when I used pigments. September is my birthday month (my birthday’s on Saturday) so I got the three lip glosses pictured in the back.

I think that this might be it for my spreeing days; at least until the Toronto IMATS in November. There may be the odd bit to pick up in between then so I’ll try and keep it to a min. I’m hoping to pick up an airbrush kit at the show.

Beauty Spree: The Body Shop

On Tuesday of last week I was finally able to get into The Body Shop to pick up a few things. I was hoping to have left with a few more lipsticks but of some of the ones that I had been lusting were not what I was expecting them to be. There are a few more that I want but didn’t have the time to check out so I’ll have to do that on my next visit.

I really don’t know what it is but I’m really loving the bright pink lipsticks. I tried on a berry/nude colour and I didn’t like the way that it looked on me. I guess because I’m so used to wearing a lip colour that brightens up my skin the nude colour just aren’t doing it for me anymore.

I also picked up the hand cream and one of the eye shadow trios. I was also give two samples, each containing two other lipsticks to try. I swatched them in the store and they are a bit too light for me so I think that I’ll add them to the giveaway prizes.

Beauty Spree: Mario Badescu Skin Care

Over the past week, I have been trying out my free samples from Mario Badescu. I filled in the questionnaire and they mailed me a bunch of things to try. This spree of for two of the products that I really liked: The Enzyme Cleansing Gel and the Special Cucumber Lotion (the two bottles towards the back). As an extra I purchased the Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater as my work environment is quite dry and there is no air circulation. My skin gets quite dehydrated because of it and I thought that this might help. I will do a review of all the products pictured next week. I ordered all the products from Mario Badescu.com and I have to say that the customer service from them is AMAZING! I’ve called the 1-800 number a few times and have received excellent help in trying to figure out what other products might be a better fit for my skin.

They also let you choose three free samples to try. I think that the samples that I originally picked out were out of stock so they sent me some other things to try. I’m looking forward to trying these items out.

Sephora.com Spree

I’m so behind in posting this and a few more sprees from the past week. A week or so I go I made a mall order on Sephora.com for the Metro Chic Matte nail polish, the Sephora brand Blush Me Twice (not pictured above) and the Stila Mini lip glosses to be used for the followers/readers giveaway.
For the most part, I have to say that I’m pretty impressed with the whole process of ordering from Sephora.com I love that I get to pick the samples that I want to try but the selection is a bit limited. This time around I picked up a sample of the Armani Code Sheer UDPP in Sin and MD Skincare Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel.

I plan on doing my nails soon so I’ll take a picture so that you can see what the matte version of Metro Chic looks like.

Small Drugstore Spree

I picked up a few things at the drugstore this past weekend to try out. The first thing that I grabbed was the Maybelline Superstay 24HR foundation as it was 20% off. Maybelline is one of the few mass brands that carries darker foundation shades in Canada. Revlon used to back in the day but I’m not too sure why they stopped. Any way, this seems like it would be a good one and I did enjoy the Dream Matte Mousse foundation when I tried it a few years back.

I also picked up the Rimmel 60 seconds top coat. I usually use the Revlon one but it’s gone all gummy on me (it wasn’t even half used yet) and I had to throw it out. I’m really trying to get back into doing my nails; I’ve really been slacking over the years. Hopefully this top coat will make my polish last a lot longer.

Shoppers Drug Mart had (has?) the Annabelle Mono Eye Shadows on sale for $2.99 so I picked up one in graffiti which is a shimmery grey/charcoal colour. I really like the creamy-ness of these eye shadows so I’ll go back and pick up a few more this week. I also want to get my hands on gleam which would make for a great highlight colour or a lid colour with graffiti to smoke it out.

Back 2 MAC & A Beauty Spree

On Saturday I went to MAC to bring in my empty containers in exchange for some new goodies. I went to the MAC freestanding store around the Bay & Bloor area because I wanted to be able to get some eye shadows as well as some new lippies from the new Makeup Art Cosmetics collection that just came out.

It has been about nine months, maybe more since I last b2m’d and I was surprised by the number of products that I had finished in that time. I had 18 empties to take back which would allow me to get three free things. In the end I didn’t end up getting anything from the Makeup Art Cosmetics collection. I had my eye on the photo realism quad and it really was beautiful in person but I’ve never been one for quads or sets for that matter because I usually only use one or two colours in the whole palette and then I feel like I wasted my money.

So instead, I picked up three eye shadows (I redeemed my b2m empties for these)in: Gorgeous Gold, Knight Devine and Plumage. I can use gorgeous gold and plumage to re-create the colours in the photo realism quad and I realized that I have a shadow from Cargo’s Plant Love that is a close sub for the darkest shade in the quad so I’m pretty much set.In addition to the shadows, I also picked up MAC Studio Fix Powder in NW45 and a bottle of Cleanse Off Oil.

After I left MAC, I ventured down the street to Sephora. I was there for over an hour playing the the shadows and trying to figure out what to get as I hadn’t planned on going there. I spoke with one of the cast members regarding a face mask because I wanted to try something new and because sometimes it hard to get to Lush – I don’t always want to go down to the Eaton Centre or along Queen West just to pick up a mask. She suggested the Murad Clarifying Mask because it helps to keep your skin clear but isn’t too drying. As an added bonus, you can use this as a spot treatment; she told me that she uses it and leaves it on over night while she’s sleeping and washes it off in the morning while in the shower. This mask is expensive at $37 so I decided to ask for samples instead so that I can see how it works for my skin before purchasing a full size. She also gave a a couple samples of the Murad Exfoliating Acne Treatment Gel This gel has Retinol, Glycolic and Salicylic Acids in it. I’m interested to see what this will do for the hormonal breakouts that I get on my cheeks and jaw line.
I also picked up a travel size of Ojon Hair Ultra Hydrating Conditioner, a travel size of MUFE Mist & Fix, Urban Decay e/s in Flash and a Sephora Brand eye pencil in Pearl Beige; which I plan to use on my waterline to help open my eyes.
