I purchased this brush about a month ago and I have to say that I’m really loving it. The MAC 109 brush is a really versatile brush in that it can be used for both powder ad liquid products. I really like how it gives me a precise application of blush on the cheek bones and it excellent for contouring to give the face some dimension. For me, this brush really shines as a foundation brush; especially when you need a bit more coverage. I’ve been using it to apply my MAC Studio Fix Liquid Foundation; which gives a medium, yet buildable coverage. This brush is a bit pricey at $38.50(CND) but it is well worth the investment in my opinion.
MAC 109 Brush: A Review
Written on Sunday, June 14th, 2009My New Love: MAC 272 Brush
Written on Thursday, May 21st, 2009
I recently purchased the MAC 272 eye shadow brush and I can’t believe that I waited this long to get it. This brush it great for applying colour to your crease due to its angled shape. I love how I get precise placement of colour without having to worry about the colour traveling upwards. This brush is a must have for any makeup bag.
May 26/09… Edited to add ~ this brush is being discontinued from MAC. If this is a brush that you have been lusting after make sure you get one before it’s gone!

Written on Tuesday, February 17th, 2009M.A.C. 129 (regular handle)
I really like this brush because you can use it for both loose/pressed powder and your powder blush application. The brush has a nice round shape that is perfect for applying colour to the apples of your cheeks.
M.A.C. 168 Angled Contour Brush
I use this brush when I am contouring underneath my cheek bones. The brush is the right shape and size to fit in the hollows of your cheeks.
M.A.C. 188 Duo Fibre Face Brush
This is one of the best brushes ever! The 188 brush is made of both synthetic and natural hair fibres; this is the smaller version of the 187. You can use this brush for applying your foundation, cream blushes, powder blushes and bronzer. The synthetic hairs give a much lighter application when using with bright colours such as M.A.C.’s Frankly Scarlet blush.
My Favourite MAC Brushes: Eyes
Written on Friday, February 6th, 2009Below are three of my favourite eye shadow brushes from MAC and how I use them.
MAC 217 Blending Brush
The MAC 217 is one of my all-time favourite brushes because it is so versatile. I use the brush to apply colour to my crease and outer corners as well as to blend my concealer under my eye. I love this brush so much that I own 2 of these babies. This brush is also great for blending out any harsh lines that I have created while placing my colour down.
MAC 239 Eye Shading Brush
The MAC 239 is a stiff, flat brush that is perfect for packing on colour. I use this brush to apply my lid and sometimes my contour colour.
This brush is also great for apply loose eye shadows (pigments, loose mineral shadows).
MAC 242 Shader Brush
I use the MAC 24 Shader brush to apply and blend out my cream eye shadows when I use them as bases.
