Review: Vasanti Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Brasilla

This eyeshadow came in my goodie bag from TBBM last month and I’m just getting around to posting my review. I’ve been wanting to try out this eye shadow for ages. Most of the shadows from Vasanti that I have tried out were more on the champagne (Toronto) or pinky (Paris) side. The website describes this shadow as a deep rich smokey brown with golden sparkle. To me this shadow seems as though there is a tinge of purple in it.

None the less, I really like this eye shadow. It has a somewhat of a creamy texture but you are able to pack on as little or as much of it that you want. The best part about this shadow is that when I use it for smokey eye, I don’t need to add black to get the depth that I want. All you need is a light shimmery gold for the brow bone, black liner for the waterlines and some mascara.

Vasanti Cosmetics are made in Canada and are available at select Shoppers Drug Mart & Rexall locations. You can also shop on-line at vasanticosmetics.ca

Vasanti Cosmetics

I was just commenting on a post by Michelle over at Lipstick Rules and realized that I’ve never talked about the brand Vasanti before. I love this brand so much and there are a few standout products from this brand that I keep going back to. But before I get to those I thought that I would share with you how I found out about this brand and it’s products.
I was in my second year of college working at a restaurant at Fairview Mall back in 2001/2002. I remember walking the mall during my break and stumbling across a kiosk for this brand. It was a new Canadian company that made makeup for people (I think the focus may have been more on the South Asian community) with yellow undertone ~ seeing as how it’s hard to find a foundation that’s not too yellow. My first purchase was a lipstick, I believe the colour was Fiji. A few hours later, I returned it for a lipgloss. From that moment on I was sold. A week or so later I went back to get colour matched for the all-in-one powder foundation. I remember thinking how light it felt but at the same time it covered so well. I commented to the sales girl that it was better the MAC Studio Fix and from that moment on that was my foundation of choice.

Their products are so beautiful and the price point is just right. My favourite products from this line are the face base, lipshines, eye shadows and eye liners. It’s been a while since this brand has been on my radar and since then, they have expanded their line.

You can find these products at select Shoppers Drug Marts and Rexall Pharma Plus across Canada. You can also purchase these products in the US and the UK.

If you try anything from this line, I’d love to know what your thoughts are on it.
